Esphigmenou Monastery
The Esphigmenou Monastery had betrayed Genuine Orthodoxy in 1932 and by restoring communion with the Ecumenists, only departing from them again in 1965, and since then have been attached to the Florinites, firstly under Auxentios and now under Kiousis. The true Zealots of Mt. Athos, who since 1924 have remained in the Sacred Struggle, are the pious monks known as the Klimaioi, found in Katounakia, Karoulia, St. Anne's Skete and Karyai, who were always supporters of St. Matthew of Bresthena, who himself was also an Athonite Zealot.
